Updated! 12/18 TLMHS Family Update and Information

Amanda Zullo

Update-break starts Wednesday at 2:04; I have no idea why I had Friday in the first edition. Holiday panic?

I hope everyone enjoyed the first Snow Day! It is always nice to get our first big storm. Wow-that snow was heavy!! Hopefully everyone is doing alright with the power-outage and everything that comes with such a storm. Please reach out if you need anything!

We had a great week last week with our incredible concerts! It was great to see so many families at the performances! Fantastic job to all students who participated and to Mrs. Cordes and Mrs. Davison. I also appreciate Mr. Naone, Mr. Cordes and Mr. Davison who helped with lights and sound-it takes a village!

Progress reports have been mailed; keep in mind there are many less grades than usual.

Monday Zoe Abbott has a Photography show opening at the Goff-Nelson Library December 19 from 4 pm - 5 pm.

Tuesday and Wednesday we will be having locker clean-out before Mod1. Please remind your child to bring home their items. It would be great to send them with a bag or two if things have added up in their lockers!

Wednesday the Red and Black Players are having their reunion concert.

I would like to thank you for a successful first half of the school year. I also want to thank each and every parent for the commitment, and support that you provide to our school.

* Christmas Break is Thursday, December 22 - Monday, January 2.

* Students return to school on Tuesday, January 3rd.

It is almost time to take this well-deserved break. I hope you are making plans to relax and spend time with your family/friends with the students returning excited about 2023!

The new-year will bring new learning experiences, new challenges and new fun. I look forward to what lies ahead for us as a school community in 2023.

I wish you all Peace, Joy, Hope and Happiness during this Holiday season and throughout the New Year.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year !

Homework Page

Our Middle/High School teachers have been working hard to make sure that everyone knows what is going on in classes.

This links to the TLMHS homework page that holds the information for Middle School and High School.

Lunch

The December lunch menu's are located here. Our cafeteria staff can take money for children's accounts or the money can be added on MySchoolBucks.

Our cafeteria staff has instituted a no cell phone use during the serving line as it causes distractions and holds up the lines. When the lines are moving efficiently the kids have a lot of time in the cafeteria to use their phones.

Thank you for sharing this with your children and helping us to ensure that all children can get through the lunch line in a timely fashion.

Project Challenge

Project Challenge is a popular program for North Country high school students offered by Clarkson University during the winter. They provide local students an opportunity to participate in classes they cannot normally find at their high school. Five-week courses are taught by Clarkson faculty and administrators on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon, beginning in mid-January.

Project Challenge 2022 courses (click the link to see options) are held Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, on January 14, 21, 28; and February 4 and 11 (with a snow date of February 18).

To register, please see Mr. Bennett or Mrs. Stuart to complete the registration information.  TLMHS will pay for the first TEN students who register.  Students are responsible for their own transportation.

The deadline to register is Friday, January 6th, 2023.  Please note that classes do fill up quickly!

Athletics

Another week has gone by and we’ve had plenty of sports action - some good and some not as good.  Nonetheless, the ‘Jacks push on.

As this week moves forward, we have more and more games to look forward to as we head towards the holiday season. Given all of the changes that happened at the end of last week, stay up to date with the athletics page. You can set the RSS feed to update you with changes that occur.

Monday - on Monday our Boys Varsity and JV teams will travel to Colton to take on the Colts in a league matchup starting at 5:30.  The boys look to continue their quest for an East Division title and a Section X Championship.

Also important to know is that Kinney Drugs, NYSPHSAA Section X’s newest partner, is excited to announce a scholarship opportunity for students in Section X. Kinney Drugs will award a $1,000 scholarship to one athlete on a men’s team and one athlete on a women’s team who demonstrate outstanding community citizenship.

Kinney Drugs is a 100% employee-owned company that has been committed to serving its local communities since 1903. Kinney is thrilled to honor students who also demonstrate a similar commitment. Coaches, administrators, parents, and friends are encouraged to nominate Section X students who demonstrate a commitment to helping their communities.

Please use the link below to nominate your student, and please share the opportunity with your coaches, teachers, parents, families, and friends.

Wish our kids luck, come cheer them on and let them know you’re proud of them.  As always, thank you for being an athletic supporter.
