12/11 TLMHS Family Update and Information

Amanda Zullo
The first 15 weeks of school have flown by!!

I know we are all excited for our concerts this Tuesday and Thursday!! I look forward to seeing you to celebrate the great work of our music program!!

Progress reports are due this Wednesday. It is expected that reports will be mailed before the weekend.

We know that there are less grades than usual due to vacations and adjustments from kids being out.

Remember-these reports are to indicate current progress. Our teachers are working hard to make sure that students have the appropriate work and feedback to be successful.

There are two big notes to keep in mind-
  • Keep in touch: Be sure to reach out if there is something major going on in your child's life that you feel we should be aware of.
  • Build habits for good attendance: If your child is truly sick, please keep them home.  Keep in mind complaints of a stomach ache or headache can be a sign of anxiety and may not be a reason to stay home.  If your child seems anxious about going to school, or if there are other limiting factors that are leading to an increase in absences, we have resources to support your family.
Is your child going to be absent from school?

You can report the absence using our email address:

When reporting the absence, please be sure to include:
-Student's name
-Reason for absence

Homework Page

Our Middle/High School teachers have been working hard to make sure that everyone knows what is going on in classes.

This links to the TLMHS homework page that holds the information for Middle School and High School.

Lunch

The December lunch menu's are located here. Our cafeteria staff can take money for children's accounts or the money can be added on MySchoolBucks.

Our cafeteria staff has instituted a no cell phone use during the serving line as it causes distractions and holds up the lines. When the lines are moving efficiently the kids have a lot of time in the cafeteria to use their phones.

Thank you for sharing this with your children and helping us to ensure that all children can get through the lunch line in a timely fashion.

Project Challenge

Project Challenge is a popular program for North Country high school students offered by Clarkson University during the winter. They provide local students an opportunity to participate in classes they cannot normally find at their high school. Five-week courses are taught by Clarkson faculty and administrators on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon, beginning in mid-January.

Project Challenge 2022 courses (click the link to see options) are held Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, on January 14, 21, 28; and February 4 and 11 (with a snow date of February 18).

To register, please see Mr. Bennett or Mrs. Stuart to complete the registration information.  TLMHS will pay for the first TEN students who register.  Students are responsible for their own transportation.

The deadline to register is Friday, January 6th, 2023.  Please note that classes do fill up quickly!

Sports

It was a full weekend with athletic teams out and playing.

All our athletes have been working hard and the seasons are now underway.  The Winter Sports Page can help us all organize the events.

Remember to wish them luck, congratulate them on their accomplishments, and when they are home - come to a game.

As always, thanks for being an athletic supporter.
