Research Databases & Other Library Services for 2025-2026

Here is a list of the research databases and other tools we will have available from Library Services next year. Plus, on the second page are some additional sources of scholarly information in which students could use during research as well.
Library Databases & Services for 2025-2026
Also, to help students use the new databases and systems to complete research, there is quite a bit of crossover between the AASL National Library standards and the NYS Computer Science/Digital Fluency standards, so I am planning to push in for tech integration sessions to help get the students going. (More info below on those standards).
I have reached out to BOCES to establish a Library point of contact so we don't miss out on any opportunities and assets. BOCES has provided me with step-by-step directions for using each of the platforms so I can create materials for classroom use so the teachers don't have to.
I've attached the NYS Computer Science & Digital Fluency Standards for reference. There are two areas that directly correlate with the AASL Standards and the thought processes and skills involved in creating "digital artifacts" (including research papers):
- The Impacts of Computing: Society & Ethics
- Digital Literacy: Digital Use & Digital Citizenship
So, basically I said all that to say this: Creating materials for teachers and students and pushing in to help students with their research projects is definitely in my wheelhouse and I am happy to help in whatever capacity is needed. 🙂
