Our Schools

The Tupper Lake Central School District encompasses 280 square miles including all of the Town of Altamont in southern Franklin County as well as the Town of Piercefield and a portion of the Town of Colton in St. Lawrence County.

The Middle / High School is located on Chaney Avenue in the Village of Tupper lake. It has an enrollment of 600 students in grades 7-12. We offer traditional courses and sequences as well as accelerated classes.

In the 2003-04 School year we began offering Distance Learning courses in Astronomy, Forensics/ Criminology and Street Law. We will be the host site for these courses.

In addition to 39 classroom teachers, the Middle/High School staff  includes 2 Guidance Counselors, a full-time Librarian, Department Leaders, a Technology Coordinator, Student Coordinator and an Athletic Director.


The L.P. Quinn Elementary School is located on a beautiful 250 acre site on the edge of the Village.

The staff of 45 classroom teachers, special area teachers and aides provides a variety of programs to the 600 students in grades Pre-K to 6th.
