A Maker Club at L.P. Quinn Elementary

Club advisor: Rebecca Buerkett, Librarian and Technology Coordinator, rebeccab@tupperlakecsd.net

GOALS:

  • To encourage students to explore their creativity using science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) concepts and do-it-yourself ideas
  • To introduce students to new creative concepts that they may have previously never encountered.

BENEFITS:

  • Encourages students to be comfortable with a struggle; builds resiliency
  • Improves technology skills
  • Provides enrichment for students who are ready for more challenge
  • Enhances creativity and “out-of-the-box” thinking
